Comox Valley Family Services Association (CVFSA) mission is to ‘build on individual and family strengths which support growth and healthy lifestyles'. Since opening our first program in 1974 our agency has grown and evolved into a supportive, caring and thriving social service agency that provides a comprehensive range of programs.
Administrative hours are Monday-Friday 9:00-4:00 and closed over lunch hour noon to 1:00 pm. *Direct services have different hours/schedules and may at times work evenings and/or weekends. We are closed over statutory holidays.

We are a charitable non-profit society governed by a volunteer board of directors. We are pleased to be accredited through two agencies - CARF (Commission Accreditation Rehabilitation Facilities) and BC Association of Family Resource Programs. We provide services in the Comox Valley; including the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox and Village of Cumberland. We also limited services to some rural areas; Oyster River in the north and south to Union Bay.
We are made up of people who truly care – from our Board to our professional staff and our volunteers. We care about what we do, we care about the people we serve, and we care about the community in which we live.
At some point in life, everyone can have challenges and may need information, support and guidance. No one knows this better than our agency, whose main objective for over these past 40 years has been to support and encourage positive family interactions and build healthy families in the community. We offer support, hope, and present opportunities—helping children, youth and families realize and create possibilities for themselves. All of our work is about building healthy and exciting tomorrows for families in our communities. We use a strengths perspective and a strengths-based approach that offers ways of working with people that focus on strengths, abilities and potential rather than problems and deficits.

Orientation to our services: We believe that everyone who participates in our programs or services is entitled to orientation and an overview of what to expect. You will receive information including but not limited to: rights and responsibilities, wait-list information, complaint process, hours of operation, code of ethics, confidentiality policy and if other appropriate community services are available.
