CVFSA is a registered charity through CRA and as such can give donation reciepts.
Registered charities are charitable organizations, public foundations, or private foundations that in Canada. They must use their resources for charitable activities and have charitable purposes that fall into one or more of the following categories ( some examples listed):
- relief of poverty (community kitchens, food banks, soup kitchens, and low-cost housing units)
- advancement of education (colleges, universities, and research institutes)
- advancement of religion (places of worship and missionary organizations)
- purposes beneficial to the community (family service agency, animal shelters, libraries, and volunteer fire departments)
How much of my donation goes to administration costs?
None, all donations are used directly to help with the program and do not cover core costs such as administration. We strive to ensure that the funds raised are used as effectively as possible.
Do you accept in-kind donations?
Some of our contributions comes in the form of in-kind donations, such as new or slightly used equipment donated to help with office work or programming e.g. sports equipment. Some items we are not able to take e.g. used infant/child car seats. CVFSA also receive services rendered on a pro-bono basis.
Do you have any volunteer opportunities?

What do you do with my information?
We do not rent, sell or trade our mailing lists. The information you provide will be used to keep you informed and up to date on CVFSA’s activities, including programs, services, special events, funding needs, opportunities to volunteer or to give, open houses, and other events. If at any time you wish to be removed from any of these lists, contact Executive Director or phone 250-338-7575 and we will gladly accommodate your request.
How do you protect my information?
We use password protocols and encryption software to protect personal and other information we receive when a product or service is requested and/or paid for online. Our software is routinely updated to maximize protection of such information. In the case of a complaint regarding privacy of information, volunteers, donors, and supporters are invited to discuss their concerns with the Executive Director.
