On June 22nd First Credit Union & Insurance shut its doors at 2pm to enable its employees to make a positive difference in the Comox Valley by volunteering in the community.

The initiative will inject 42 people into the not-for profit sector, leaving work early to pitch in with local organizations, including Comox Valley Family Services Associaton.  Companywide, 145 staff will be volunteering in the communities that they serve.

"The purpose of our organization is to strengthen the well-being of our member-clients and make a meaningful community impact," says First Credit Union & Insurance. "To express our commitment to the community, we close all of our branches early to enable our employees to volunteer in their community. It's an opportunity to lend a hand and show our gratitude to some of the remarkable non-profit organizations that work every day for the benefit of others."
